Candida Yeast Infection Symptoms

Candida Yeast Infection Symptoms: You believe you have a yeast infection, but how can you be sure that the symptoms you are suffering from are actually a yeast infection?  The doctor is the only one that can diagnose a yeast infection for sure, but there are some symptoms that will give you a good idea if this is the problem that you are suffering from.  There are many more symptoms that come along with candida yeast infection than you might realize and diagnosing the problem can be difficult.  Especially if you don’t have any of the classic symptoms.banner13

The symptoms of yeast infection can occur in many areas of the body.  In many cases the yeast can grow on the surface of the skin and will most likely occur in folds of the skin such as under the arms.  In most cases the skin will fight off the overgrowth of yeast, but if there is a cut or other skin problem in the area, there can be a yeast infection problem.

In women the problem can be quite irritating.  All women have yeast in the vagina and when the yeast grows out of control, it will cause a whole host of symptoms.  Itching, burning and discharge are the most common symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection in women.  It is vital that a woman visit the doctor to be sure that the infection is, indeed, yeast and not a bacterial infection.  An infection that is caused by bacteria will not respond to the treatment that is used for a yeast infection.

Candida infection or yeast infections can occur in any area of the body, particularly of those with a weakened immune system.  Candida can cause problems with the internal organs and cause pain or a reduced functioning of the organ.

For a woman who experiences the symptoms of a yeast infection for longer than a week, it is important to consult with the doctor to rule out any other causes.  Those who have a weakened immune system because of disease should also consult with their doctor any time there is evidence of an infection.  When the problem is allowed to grow out of control, it can cause serious illness.

It is important that you try to keep your body well balanced to prevent yeast infection from occurring in the first place.  It is far simpler to prevent the problem than it is to eliminate it once it has started.  Eat a well balanced diet and make sure that you are eating foods that boost the immune system.  Those with compromised immune systems have a harder time combating yeast in their body.  Most of the time the body will ensure that yeast does not grow out of control, but when there is a compromise to the immune system or the body is out of balance, it will have a more difficult time controlling the yeast.

Stay away from processed sugars and sugary foods.  Also, carbohydrates are another of the foods that feeds candida in the body.  You should keep these foods to a minimum in your diet.
